  • They Say...

The final volume of the series has the most obscure tracks of the lot, and focuses more on the early psychedelic era than the previous installments. None of these were hits, and only the Sonics and the Kingsmen were widely known. However, it's also the least interesting of the three volumes, with little in the way of notable material, other than the Sonics' "High Time" and P.H. Phactor's raw, Charlatans-like folk-blues-rock. The Bards, though, offer one of the best (and few truly imaginative) covers of "My Generation," with its eerie ending of psychedelic cuckoo clock sound effects.
