Review
by Ted Mills, All Music GuideThe first of what would be a 19-volume (and still counting, presumably) series of various tracks by the reggae label's roster of artists. Fortunately, Greensleeves has (or had, circa 1987) many heavy-hitters in the business, including Burning Spear (with their trancelike "We Are Going"), Yellowman (the seriously catchy "Zungguzungguguzungguzeng"), Augustus Pablo ("Pipers of Zion"), Black Uhuru ("I Love King Selassie"), and on and on. An excellent collection and introduction to early-'80s reggae, despite the occasional cringeworthy moment (Carlene Davis' fawning "Winnie Mandela").
