  • They Say...

CMH Records' never-ending stream of tribute albums and Pickin' On compilations continues with The Jam Band Tribute to the Allman Brothers. While bluegrass tributes to U2 and Creed are pretty farfetched, jam bands like Zoo People and the David Kalish Band covering the Allmans' noodling Southern jams feels quite appropriate. Groups like Rollin' in the Hay and Jimmy & the Tercels adapt the songs to fit their individual styles, while Richie & the Pocket Rockets and particularly David Kalish give their heroes tribute as faithfully as possible. While none of these songs are as good as the originals, fans of the jam band genre will be satisfied with their purchase.
