They Say...
Timeless Flight is an import from the U.K. that features so-so to OK live versions of material from Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat, and Johnny Winter. Grace Slick isn't really in tune for much of either "White Rabbit" or "Somebody to Love," but that'll likely give fans the authentic Airplane live sound. Santana fares better, offering some spicy guitar and organ solos during an eight-minute "Hot Tamales," while Johnny Winter's "Mean Town Blues" is an electrified and elongated blues-rock rave-up. This set is for completists only, as the sound quality throughout is iffy and it doesn't offer much in the way of documentation.
