Playtime is over. It's an understandable sentiment for grime producer/MC Wiley. After Roll Deep's failed 2005 pop bid, In at the Deep End, and a host of threats on his life, Wiley is ready to pack it up and head home with his young daughter in tow. That's why Playtime Is Over feels like loose ends getting tied up at every turn. He reminisces in "Letter 2 Dizzee," immortalizes his daughter ("Baby Girl") and even cops to some mistakes along the way ("My Mistakes"). Rap retirements rarely last long, but with Playtime Is Over, the Eski-boy has put together a record that could serve as a fitting epitaph to a solo career that helped define a genre.
