  • They Say...

This is a keeper. Recorded live at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Los Angeles with help from Minutemen bassist Mike Watt, Worldbroken is wholly improvised -- the band showed up, started playing, then stopped after about an hour. It's not one seamless song, but a series of hallucinatory segments that ebb and flow like a thick liquid sloshing around in a container. Even the parts that don't work, don't go on too long, and what you're left with is a mostly fresh, at times exciting, approach to live rock performance. Walking a tightrope without a net, Saccharine Trust occasionally stumble, but never fall throughout the course of this album.
