Very nice indeed! The tone of Aaron's voice takes you back to the time of great music.

I'm not from Louisiana and I still think Aaron can do no wrong. It's a Great CD.

I searched this one out just for Pledging my Love. My parents "song". There's was by Johnny Ace and Lord knows I'll NEVER find that one. But Aaron does justice to this one and the sax solo is nice too. Being a gal from Louisiana I'd have to say Aaron just can't do badly...

Just ok

I downloaded this as soon as I saw it, figuring Aaron Neville and that awesome voice, old R&B standards, what could go wrong. Well, Neville sounds like he's only half trying. There are a few nice moments here, but mostly it's just average. If you are a huge Aaron Neville fan, this is probably another one you need, but other than that I'd say pass on it.

They Say All Music Guide

Finally, here is a disc of Aaron Neville doing what he does best, singing the great music of the ’50s. This is a 1983 EP consisting of five songs, expanded with four more songs. Though it is still short at 33 minutes and 35 seconds, it is not a wham-bam/on-and-off affair like it may seem, and there is not a throwaway cut here. This disc was done with some of the best musicians and writers available, with special attention to detail, from the opening notes of “Pledging My Love” to the final refrain of “Mickey Mouse March.” You haven’t heard it done like this before unless you saw the Neville Brothers years ago. There are no highlights, as all the songs seem to stand out; whether you want to single out Wardell Quezergue’s stunning arrangement of Jerry Butler’s “For Your Precious Love” or maybe the renowned Doc Pomus classic “Save the Last Dance for Me,” each has that moment that takes you away. This is a labor of love by artists, musicians, and producers that showcases a man’s remarkable abilities to take a listener to new places not of this realm. – Bob Gottlieb
