Although Act of God has been said to be one of the singer’s favorite albums, it takes a while to grow on the listener. In true Acappella fashion, the quartet of men sings the ten songs on this album in perfect harmony, but the musical impact of the songs peter out after the first track. An individual listening to this album exclusively for energetic singing or remarkable presentation will be disappointed. Many of the songs do not possess the same upbeat, foot-tapping, finger-snapping style from previous Acappella albums. Some songs are musically mediocre. This is not to say Act of God is hard on the ears, but it is an album that requires the listener to look past music style and examine the words.
