Worthy of repeated listening

Hastonia

I found "Release" to have a more complex rhythm base than their first album. While definitely worth listening to, I think it would also be useful as a soundtrack for a RPG, or as music for exercising. Not really a heavy beat, and just enough variance to keep things interesting.

let it grow on you

dawhead

this was the first afro-celt album i owned, and i admit that on first listening the mixture of celtic and african themes can come across as a bit, uh, cheesy. just keep listening, and with any luck you'll find they grow into a nice seamless and often damn funky blend of grooves and melodies.

Volume 2: Release, Afro Celt Sound System’s eagerly anticipated second album, continues the group’s dedication to hypnotic grooves and innovative arrangements. Ancient and electronic elements blend in a timeless, ethereal fashion, transcending world and dance genre labels. Sinead O’Connor provides vocals on the first track, and an interactive music game is included as a bonus track. Volume 2: Release is a complex, complete artistic statement from a unique, open-minded group. – Heather Phares
