So reverential they released four successive EPs rather than an album, Airiel nail the core shoegazer sound, including "I can't believe it's not Chapterhouse" guitars and some beatbox grooves more interesting than any Robin Guthrie came up with. I'm not certain the songs are quite good enough to stand on their own merits, but I'm having fun listening to them and twirling around like it's 1991.
