Damn good stuff!

Al Kooper really hit his stride with the Super Sessions with Mike Bloomfield. this is a good addition to that catalog.

Soul Session Jam!

This oldy but goody is making it to the top of my play list. Love Kooper's voice and the jams are classic.

What A Combination!

It's too bad that Shuggie Otis disappeared from the limelight. He was a monster. And teamed with the distinctive sound of Al Kooper, it's a delight.

An underappreciated classic

LeeRocker

One of the great guitarists of his generation, Shuggie Otis was a teen prodigy who could shred the blues with the best of them. He also made some top-notch "groove" records, most notably the recently reissued Inspiration Information. The great Al Kooper produced "Kooper Sessions", and he's totally in synch with Shuggie's virtuosity; the seven tunes showcase Shuggie's extraordinary range. Upon hearing these recordings for the first time in many years, I couldn't help feeling a bit sad that Shuggie wasn't more prolific, as he was without doubts one of the great talents of his generation.

Thanks EMusic!

This is a hard to find blues album. I can remember purchasing this in the 60's because Al Kooper was involved, but it really showcased Shuggie Otis. The 12:15 Slow Goonbash Blues is a wonderful piece I can listen to over and over again.

Fabulous blues!

Man, Shuggie Otis plays some fantastic guitar here. And Kooper is amazing on the keyboards trading off the leads. Just a great blues record that I am so glad I found here.
