Great Album
One of the best Blues discoveries. Great guitar work. Must be a riot of a time in a live concert.

Good to see the Blues are alive and well when I hear this. great find on EMusic.
SRV would be proud. I like this guys music. His music has been a great find for me.
Cummings has rock undertones but is ~blue~ all the way. His guitar licks tell the story at times without the lyrics. The songs "Free At Last" and "Feeling Good" are two very different contrasts. There is no mistaking that the man has seen the shadow and the sun!
This was my first taste of Albert Cummings (He certainly has the correct first name for a blues guitarist) and I was very pleased with what I found. He is very a very tasty player, never playing any more than is necessary for the song. This makes what he plays even more distinctive. Yeah, there are a whole lot of great guitarists our there, but who many of them know when NOT TO PLAY? Like in funk music, its the spaces that build the tension in a song, and Cummings knows when to lay off. I especially like his cover of Hank Williams "Workin' Man Blues". He is at his best when he's rocking... his ballads leave a little to be desired... thankfully there are only a couple on this record... all in all, a very good effort and a very likable recording.
