Wonderful Music - awful recording
Not having heard of 'La Griselda" before I pounced on this set to see what you get for a rarity. Absolutely splendid music; hard to realise Alessandro Scarlatti is basically a 17th century composer but it certainly explains one of the reasons for Handel's trio to Rome! Wonderful sinfonias; beautiful singing; BUT. The recording quality would disgrace a set of Edison wax cylinders! A terrible disappointment; this is only listenable if you must have Freni and Alva as the leads. I shall continue my researches now I know what I'm missing, but not with this version - I hope!
