They Say All Music Guide

The second release in GNP Crescendo’s collection of television episode soundtracks from the original Star Trek series manages to be several cuts above the previous release, which compiled the music for “The Cage” (the original pilot) and “Where No Man Has Gone Before.” Part of the reason for this improvement is better technology available to the record company, of course…but it did help that two-track masters were discovered in the meantime. The level of craft and quality is the thing that makes this album a solid buy for soundtrack buffs, Trek fans and even some classical listeners — pure craftsmanship with a heart of gold. Kudos to GNP Crescendo for another fine release. – Steven McDonald
