This is Alice's darkest and best album. It's topics are the greed and cruelty of humanity. It was released right around the time that the public was becoming aware of what was going on in Bosnia, and made such songs like "Pick Up The Bones" even more Horrific. If you like Powerful rock which speaks to what is actualy going on in the world, and who we are under our masks then I highly recamend this album.
The man's nearly old enough to be my grandfather (and I'm no spring chicken!), and this album just plain ROCKS! Dark, gritty, mean and heavy, this album gets to the evil little dwarf in the back of your mind and lets him come out and play. Check out "Gimme" first - surprisingly heavy and surprisingly good - it will not disappoint!
I'm a long time Alice Cooper fan that had given up on him back in the 80's. This isn't so much a return to form as it is a tremendous updating of the AC sound. Musically a cross between industrial and metal. Lyrically, it's excellent. Save for download!
I am pleasantly surprised by a rougher Alice. This is, by far, the best album he's ever released. Thoroughly impressed.
You want Alice? You've got Alice. A good solid rock album by one of the most iconic Rock 'n' Roll figures.
I just listened to this (again) a couple of days ago. Without a doubt my favourite album by Alice. Just a notch or two harder than anything else he's done. Great music and the lyrics are actually quite interesting.
