This is a bonus disk...

timabouttown

...for his other 2009 release, Noble Creatures. I'd rather have seen them combined as a single download here for a much-reduced price...but then again, the two are only available together on CD for $23 at Amazon, and the two together here for less than half that. The emu price for the two is also $6 less than Amazon, so there you go. Anyway, if you listen to this as the bonus disk of b-side instrumentals that it is, it's quite nice.

Fantastic

Joseph93

It's lovely and rewarding to see where Bird is going, what he's experimenting with, etc. I have grown to adore all these tracks over the past 2 yrs (as i got this back in 2009). Carrion Suite and Hot Math are simply killer.

not needed

Love Andrew Bird but downloaded this without paying enough attention. Really didn't need an experimental instrumental outtake album. Can't imagine sitting around listening to it when I could be listening to any of his other albums

Not His Usual

crichton007

I like Andrew Bird but this album is all experimental instrumental. Not something I liked at all.

Why Why Why ???

pacf

As commented previously WHY are there SO many albums that are not available in UK? And you can't even listen to a sample to see if you would like to go and buy it elsewhere.

25 Bands to See at Coachella 2012

By eMusic Editorial Staff, eMusic Contributor

There is every other music festival and then there is Coachella, the California-desert weekend that, in many ways, set the template for all that followed. The first U.S. festival to boast big-ticket reunions and all-over-the-map booking, Coachella continues to maintain its distinctive, idiosyncratic personality. Needless to say, navigating such a wide array of music can be tricky. We've picked 25 acts worth making time for. more »

Schizo-Pop! A Guide to Musicians and Their Alternate Personae

By Laura Studarus, eMusic Contributor

Whether it's on account of creativity bursting at the seams, or just a desire to try something musically or lyrically different from their previous work, sometimes artists feel the need to step outside themselves and create an entirely new persona. The syndrome that's kept psychologists busy for years has manifested itself in concept albums, live performances or just the occasional one-off single. Inspired by Nicki Minaj's sophomore album Roman Reloaded — where Minaj channels her rage… more »

Interview: Andrew Bird

By Rachael Maddux, eMusic Contributor

Six albums into his career, Andrew Bird has established himself as a man of certain habits - the whistling, the violin, the sock-footed live shows - stuff that'd seem like a heap of geeky gimmicks if they weren't executed so well. Classically trained from an early age, he seems nothing if not a lover of routine and control; even when he's warbling about the end of the world, it's with poise, grace and intelligence. But when… more »

New This Week: The Men, Jenny Scheinman & More

By J. Edward Keyes, Editor-in-Chief

New ones from The Men, Jenny Scheinman and more this week. Let's get to it. The Men, Open Your Heart: Here it is. People, if you only download one record today, make sure this is it. Big, loud, roaring rock & roll that ricochets between scuzzy garage, roughed-up punk and lovely, laid-back country with equal aplomb. Needless to say, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Here's eMusic's Austin L. Ray with more: The album is divided roughly into three categories: rockers… more »
