Andrew Peterson has a knack for writing great folk songs that hit you right in the heart with deep spiritual truth. Peterson is a Christian and certainly writes from that worldview but that shouldn't stop one from enjoying his songwriting skills. Carried Along is about as perfect a folk album as one could ask for. I stumbled upon it back in 2000 and it has basically become a staple for me because of its rich storytelling themes of grace, redemption, struggles, marriage, and love. Check out "Rise and Shine", "The Ninety and Nine", and "Faith to be Strong" for starters. This should be a whole album download though. You won't regret it! Peterson also has several other albums out that are well worth listening to including "Love and Thunder" and "Behold the Lamb of God".

Andrew Peterson, the CCM group bearing a title that can often be mistaken for a single individual, released their debut album, Carried Along, in 2000. The trio, composed of members Andrew Peterson, Jamie Peterson, and Gabe Scott, toured with Caedmon’s Call before signing a record deal with Watershed Records in the spring of 1999.
