Albinoni's allegros!
Albinoni's concerti stick to a good formula: an opening movement that sounds like it could turn into the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba any moment, an elegant and touching slow movement, and a cheerful closing Allegro. Don't knock it - it works. Unless you're constitutionally averse to the Italian baroque, each concerto is enjoyable in its own right. Note, though, that these are 'concerti with oboe' so there's no virtuosity a la Four Seasons. Each work is 3 movements; the order here is sinfonia, op.7/2, op.7/3, op.7/8, op.7/9, op.7/1, op.9/6.
