The Antlers' 2009 album Hospice was recorded in vocalist/guitarist Peter Silberman's bedroom — a space too small for the band's three members to play at the same time (forget about a full drum set). Silberman wrote the songs, then enlisted drummer Michael Lerner and multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci to take the project from a solo effort to actual group.
