AMAZING
I heard part of River of Sorrow on the television show "Bones" and looked it up. I've played it over and over. It is so compelling and his voice is extraordinary. I've always liked classical and vocal - this blend is exquisite.

One of the most origianl sounds of the past twenty years. Haunting and not a little disturboing.
A friend introduced me to Antony on her return from the UK last year..I wasnt totally convinced..then I saw him perform in the movie "I'm Your Man' the tribute to Leonard Cohen, singing an LC cover..it was so full of natural emotion it blew me away. I listen to his rich, chocolate-ripling voice every afternoon at sundown with a glass of wine to unwind from the day..he's magical.
Definitely something that takes getting used to, but it is so full of emotion... Please bring back the other album/singles to eMusic! They were here before...
I knew Antony when we were teenagers and he has always sought to express himself through his music. His original voice is worth a listen, although it can be an aqquired taste.
I have admit that when I was first introduced to this music by my partner I thought "ouch"! But it didn't take long to get into it - a very individual approach, great voice and gripping drive. Start with "Hitler in my heart"!
what happened to the other antony and the johnsons material on emusic? all gone . . ?
Grrl, Antony is a FIERCE goth dragula crooner full of ethos and the right dose of bombast. If "Cripple and the Starfish" or "Hitler in My Heart" don't get you beating your breast, I dont' know what will.
With mouth wide open i saw his bbc concernt by "zapping" accident and couldn't, for the life of me, zap any futher. All my favourites in one Leonard Cohen, Roxy Music, Blues and Jazz, what more could i want!
This album is the most heartfelt thing i've ever heard. Antony's voice is so easy to cry to. Seriously good, genius even.
