Gorgeous

Easy-Urf

A beautifully crafted slice of dusty psychedelic prog folk. I'm sure the opener, \"Sands and Sands\" was used in a soundtrack to a film, just can't remember which film!? \"My song is a seed in your garden.\" Beautiful.

Great album

JBB

Arbouretum are an intriguing mix of folk-rock, post-rock, psychedelia... and on their second album Rites of Uncovering, they are a creative, updated mix of 69 era Dead, Fairport, the free jazz of Sonny Sharrock combined with early Bonnie Prince Billy. (Unfortunately the bland new album, Song of the Pearl, an attempt at mainstream rock, fails for me.) This is the most folk oriented of the three.

a very nice download indeed! to categorise this group they arent too far away from having a sound similar to califone but dont get me wrong they definently have there own thing going on. This is a great debut and a pre curser to for things to come, namebly there more recent release on thrill jockey. Get em both, there both very good indeed. This band are destined for great things!
