This is an outstanding album of roots-influenced, folk-rock / blues music from the highly under appreciated singer-songwriter Arthur Godfrey, who is definitely not the ukulele-toting 1950's television personality. This Godfrey is more like Howlin' Wolf singing folk ballads. Vocal comparisons to Tom Waits are inevitable, but the music is more akin to Dylan, Neil Young, or especially Greg Brown. Hopefully eMusic will sort out these very different Godfreys soon.
