these guys are in the vein of ride and swervedriver. The gutiars are blistering and shiny with tremendous pop sensability. This is what i hope modern newgaze to sound like. I love the potential, I hope they work out the production to something on the level of mezcal head by swervedriver at least. Where is alan moulder when you need him?
The songs are GREAT - I hope they stay with it, but since this is 2008, there's probably no technical excuse for such a sludgey recording... unless they mixed it that way deliberately. It's not far from the late-80's shoegazey sound of bands like Swervedriver and Ride, but still, the vocals are too buried, there's too much reverb in general, and the drums especially sound too far away. The result is that it lacks "punch" - and the material cries out for it. Still, if you're not bothered by the production, this is well worth the downloads.
