One of the original Hot Boys on New Orleans 'seminal Cash Money Records, B.G. was making records since his early teens. Lanky, and with an almost impenetrable drawl, he oozed preternatural confidence on the six albums he released with the label. By the time of this 2003 album, B.G. had split from his Cash Money brethren rather acrimoniously, but his confidence remained. He sounds like he's grown into his sound here — a mix of melancholy and swagger, over tinny, post-bounce beats that take cues from the records he found his first success with as a wee lad.
