One of the overlooked masterpieces of its era
"People" is a brilliant album -- one of the great albums of the 90s. The songwriting is fresh and smart, the playing is tight and inventive, and the singing and harmonies are exquisite. If you like Ida or Poster Children, you might love this band. Babe the Blue Ox were simply better and more creative than most bands that became superstars in their generation. So why didn't they? I haven't the faintest idea, and consider the fact that they're nearly forgotten one of the great tragedies of the contemporary music business. They had it all -- all except for the success they deserved.
