Bad Company, Hard Rock Live
Label: Image Entertainment / Egami

Capturing the band's 2008 Hard Rock Hotel reunion show, this live disc finds Bad Company as confident and energetic as their 70's heyday. Opening with their theme "Bad Company", the band charges into a powerful performance brimming with electricity. Front man Paul Rogers' brash growl is in fine form throughout the concert, as is the rest of the band — who execute all of the classic hits with precision. Hard Rock Live showcases a band returning to the stage with a performance so energy-driven you'd think they never stopped — making it a worthwhile listen for diehard and casual fans alike.

All the songs you like, done live. The mix is good and the song structure haven't been tinkered with too much. I don't regret downloading.

Rock as you remember it!

cwm2003

These guys still know how to rock. All of these hits from their earlier recordings still sound great live. One of the better live albums.

R.I.P. Boz Burrell

EddieMullet

The "unknown" bass player is former Blue Oyster Cult bassist Danny Miranda, who also played with Queen during Paul Rodgers' tenure with them. Unfortunately original bassist Boz Burrell passed away a few years ago and that's why we only get 3 out of 4 original members.

MoondogsRadio

songs we've heard for years get a new coat of paint. They sound tight. What a great night of music.

This is good

ScramMan

Saw the show on Palladia HD the other night. Three original members of Bad Co, plus Howard Leesse on guitar (Heart), and an unknown bass player. Paul Rogers really has a strong voice on this show, and too see his interaction with Mick Ralphes was awesome! Download it if you like Bad Company from the 70's!

They Say All Music Guide

Paul Rodgers made no secret that Bad Company’s 2008 reunion gig at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was to “protect the legacy they have built and cement the rights to the trademark Bad Company for touring,” a trademark they capitalized upon the following year with a brief American tour. But that 2008 gig in Hollywood, FL, is where the comeback started, and that return to glory is documented on the 2010 CD/DVD set Hard Rock Live. This clean, professional performance never strays from the expected as the band plays all the classics with efficiency instead of flair, yet it’s still quite entertaining for die-hard fans. – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
