I have Peer Gynt Suite No.1 and No.2 interpreted by Karajan and the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra ( a Deutsche Grammophon recording). But this one by Georg Singer / Bamberg Symphonic Orchestra, seems to be a better performance, with all due respect.
I grew up listening to this particular recording of The Peer Gynt Suites; in fact I have it memorized. In today's world of remix upon remix and cover versions of cover versions, it is interesting that it is the small nuances in tempo and emphasis that make the difference between one performance and another. This one, to my ear, displays just the right amounts of both.
