underrated band

Bang Tangos first album was one of the most original albums of the 80's. They incorporated sounds that were unusual for the genre. Funk with a almost goth edge. They were kind of grouped into the hairband era but stand out musically. Not for everyones liking i'm sure but a great first effort.

Ultimate?

The Ultimate Bang Tango collection="Someone like you". Don't waste your time. There are better 80's band wanna-be's out there than this. Faster Pussycat or Skid Row offer more variety than is offered with this crap. Plus, Bang Tango's live stuff is horrible!

They Say All Music Guide

Most Bang Tango fans will already own copies of their two greatest moments, “Someone Like You” and “Untied and True,” somewhere on CD. And while there are many other fan favorites, they are inexplicably presented here in live form (including their unforgivably heinous cover of Marc Bolan’s “20th Century Boy”), along with four new bonus tracks. One of the tracks is of mild amusement, as it is a cover of Guns N’ Roses’ classic “Mr. Brownstone,” featuring original GNR co-founder Tracii Guns and GNR alumni Gilby Clarke on guitars. The new stuff is reasonable incentive for diehards to purchase The Ultimate Bang Tango, but not much else on here would warrant calling this an ultimate collection. – Rob Theakston
