Best of Beats Antique

RiddimSelektor

In my mind, this is the best of Beats Antique. The sound on this album is more organic and natural feeling than some of the other albums, which by the way are also excellent.

One cannot say enough positive things about Beats Antique. Great sound, great twists and wonderful for all Tribal Style bellydancers... Have fun and dance!

Great stuff

Thias was exactly what I was looking for - belly dance music with a modern (aka "American 21st century") perspective. Really good energetic instrumental.

Lots of good tracks

ergogirl

Best bellydance-fusion CD I've found yet. There are one or two quirky songs that would probably only appeal to a few (eg., Discovered) but The Lantern and Tabla Toy are definite must-haves with haunting themes and excellent beats. Battle is pretty good too. Derivation actually sounds like a downtempo version of Gershwin's "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess! Give it a try... it kinda grows on you.

Excellent album, esp. for dancers

eliciel

This is a lyric-less album of remixed and/or original Middle Eastern, North African, and possibly Eastern European music. It features many of the rhythms that ATS and Tribal Fusion dancers enjoy, such as basic rock 4/4 with breakbeats and the more Middle Eastern chiftitelli, but also fun rhythms like the 6/8 underlying "Rabat" and the karsilama in "Nau-Ashta". If you like electronica remixes of music for dancing, and you like the music from those regions, then you will love this album. For me, there isn't a single unlikable song, and I'd give most of them 4-5 out of 5 stars.
