Dove Award-winning contemporary Christian artist Bebo Norman has been crafting emotional, spirited, yet world-weary slabs of radio-ready praise & worship folk-pop for over a decade now. Released in 2010, Ocean doesnt deviate too far from that formula, and while the tone is a bit more mellow than on previous releases, Norman remains an engaging, honest, and original voice in a genre thats not necessarily known for posing questions. Front-loaded with two great singles, the rousing Everything I Hoped Youd Be and the easy midtempo Here Goes, Ocean feels both familiar and free, and despite its slick production, manages to stand out from the rest of the pack. – James Christopher Monger
