King's Curse
One of the darker, stranger albums I've heard in a while - refreshingly so in an age of a prevailing tenderness and childishness in music. King's Curse is fanciful, sure, but in a twisted, inverted way, like a more Satanic and less sweet Colin Meloy. Give this at least a few listens and realize that under a somewhat chaotic surface is an intricate and terrifying story of a band of thieves, their king and his exiled half-beast son.
