Singer/songwriter Blake Morgan delivers an intimate and moody set of his original compositions on Silencer. Showcasing songs Morgan previously released as fleshed-out, electric rock arrangements on 1996′s Sneakers, 1997′s Anger’s Candy and 2005′s Burning Daylight, Silencer finds the multi-instrumentalist taking a stripped-down approach and performing solo on acoustic piano. These are darkly heartfelt, enigmatic and melodic songs that often bring to mind a mix of the yearning, expansive rock of the Smashing Pumpkins and the soulful AM pop of Todd Rundgren.
