Like their self-titled album
Is there such a thing as prog groove hardcore? 'Cuz that's what their self-titled record sounded like to me, and this one more or less perfects the style. First and foremost, "Thought" never lets up and plays hard and heavy throughout. But the thing I like is how each tune sounds meticulously (if that term can apply to hardcore) constructed, with varied riffs and changes in meter. (A good example is King of the Closet.) More generally, Blindside just seems to have a unique take on this genre, perhaps because of they come from Sweden. But whatever the reason, I like how they do things.
