Capturing the sound of 'real' Africa, Blues Ntaka sings in scintillating, mostly major accord, while avoiding the strict intervals and pop polish of Western harmony. The sound of their X! clicks (sounds heard only in Xhosa, made by clicking the tongue against the floor of the mouth), as well as their whistles, shouts, and swelling dynamics, all recorded brilliantly, makes this homesick African want to put on his d'shiki and take off his shoes, and sing right along!
