The Album He Was Meant to Do

Dalmarus

Others have said it, but I have to state the obvious. This is the album that Bo would have produced the first time had he been allowed. I seem to remember the first and second place winners were forced to work with the American Idol music folks on the first album. Well, he did and it showed. It was *not* what his fans wanted to hear because it didn't showcase who he was. This album does, and in a great way. If this had been the first album released, Bo's name would still be on everyone's lips, not just those members of a loyal following. Keep it up, Bo. We love ya!

Back to Bo-sics!

tallygal1

There were alot of critics that panned this offering, but I actually found it more fun than his debut album. It pays homage to the great southern rock that I grew up listening to. Keep up the good work, Bo!

This is the album he should have done the 1st time

If you liked BO on AI and you were disappointed with the first album, please give this one a try. This is pure southern rock (what we hoped we were getting the first time, but didn't!). BO ROCKS OUT on this one. You won't be disappointed (at least I wasn't).

BO Rocks!!

bamajeepman08

This is Mrs Bamajeepman08 and I just love Bo's new cd. He definatly is showing his southern rock talent on this. When you listen to each track you will hear the real BO Bice. His growly, voice comes through strong and clear. He wrote or co wrote all the songs on this cd. Some of the tracks are ones that Bo has had on the back burner for years. Finally he's able to show the true talen he couldn't on his previous CD. Your fans love you Bo, you've never changed who you are ane what kind of music you want to bring to us. Thanks so much. This CD brings it all.

This is BO

D-One

I have to admit, I watched American Idol every week to see what performance Bo would blow me away with this time. He rarely disappointed until that first CD came out. It was overproduced, generic and bland. This on is on a new label and clearly he was allowed input and returned to the southern rock sound that drew fans. if you like Allman Brothers,Black Crowes, any good southern rock flavor than you owe it to yourself to give this CD a try. "Witness" has a bit of a Lenny Kravitz feel and is great. and my other favorite is the last song.

They Say All Music Guide

Well, this is the album Bo Bice should have made the first time around — an album steeped in the south, not just Southern rock but heaping helpings of country, blues, and soul, all bearing a writing credit from Bice himself. It’s miles away from the corporately massaged debut The Real Thing, a proto-DAUGHTRY attempt to turn an American Idol rocker into a marketable package and one that pretty much killed any chance of having Bice appeal to either his fans on the show or modern rockers…or anybody, really. See the Light is a do-over, kicking Bo right back to where he’s started from: singing Southern-fried rock to a small audience. Not many will care in 2007/2008, but those who do — those with long memories, those who are loyal — will be very happy with this record, which is lean and sturdy, never flashy. Bice writes all the stuff — all bloozy boogie and choogle, but he knows enough to either consciously or unconsciously rework Charlie Daniels’ “Trudy” as “Take the Country Out of Me,” which earns a lot of points for taste — and while he’s not working new ground he’s digging deep into his Southern roots, knowing how to shuffle around the elements into something that’s not new, but is enjoyable. Again, it’s not for everybody but for those who care, they’ll rejoice that Bo Bice finally delivers on his promise from the show…and wonder if anything would have been different if this was the album he did the first time out. – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
