One of my primo "finds" this year....
Keeping Rock=a-billy very alive, with a contemporary twist!

Living in Milwaukee, I saw these guys when they were a three piece, before they added a bass player, and they ripped up that dive bar on the East Side. This album, when it came out, distilled that sound effectively, although later they complained that the stripped down sound was due to lack of money, not conscious decision. Whatever, it worked.
T Bone Burnett produced this and played guitar on most tracks. Top tracks: She's A Runaway, Fadeaway, and Still The Night. For a first album, this had some obvious filler. Real finds are the demos - some of which should have made it on the record the first time. These guys were pretty good at rockabilly.
