Like Janis Joplin ate Norah Jones

Got to see this girl live in Richmond, Va. the other night. Could not believe the perfect pitch, great rasp and from-the-gut-power of that voice. This CD is the new one, and is great -- wish it wasn't QUITE so "produced," but that's to be expected with an up and comer.

Knows how to tear a heart

"Love Never Knows" tears my heart with every line because its so real. Along with above, I keep "Soft To The Touch" and "Fallen Angel" on my playlist the year round.

Yes! Another Fine Discovery

Bonnie Bishop is an excellent songwriter with a terrific voice. She's big in Texas, but you'll wonder why she isn't a bigger star. Operatically trained, she can sing light country or belt out the blues. Most of the vocals on this album were recorded live in the studio with the band, giving it an honest quality.

A fine discovery

I had never heard of Bonnie till I subscribed to KUT's (austin radio station)podcast via iTunes. The voice is what grabbed my attention first; it's a mix of soft and rough - a bit like Lucinda W or the other Bonnie (Raitt) in her early 70s period. Downloaded this album on spec and it's excellent. This is music for grown-ups in the best sense. She seems to gig mainly around Texas and the South. Hopefuly she'll make it to Europe soon.
