Great album. Too bad the tracks are in the wrong order.
If you followed Boz from his first album with its classic "Loan me a Dime" through his soul-flavored 80's pop and found something to like in all of it, "Memphis" is a terrific album that touches all of the past brilliance polished with the Willie Mitchell sound. It moves from toothsome blues to Steely Dan cover to classic pop and soul in a natural slide that feels true to all the Boz Scaggs I remember.
Boz has such a uniqe sound that is hard to beat.He makes every song his own, like the way he does Rainy Night & Love on a 2way.Great album to put on and just kick back.He hasn't lost his touch, just gettin his stride back.
