"You can see beyond the wall:" 1978, 9th album
Where do you go after the amazing Circles in the Stream? You go OUT. This is a sharper Bruce, in transition from the coffeehouses and polite Canadian concert halls to take his first steps into the world. "Feast of Fools" is a nod to theologian Harvey Cox (who Bruce thanks in the notes), who wrote that social justice is the primary expression of faith - and in historical (1969) context, with special attention to Latin America: obviously a major part of Bruce's outlook from here on. GORGEOUS bass throughout from Robert Boucher, whose telepathic connection with Bruce anchors one of his very most beautiful records, fantastically remastered. Nice bonus track...but get to know the original 10 first. One of his very most beautiful records: classic, indispensable, perfect.
