More major than minor for me

samaraofseil

OK, so it's not one of his most obvious or in-your-face albums, but it has worn well, perhaps better than some of his others. Maybe it's the 'complexity' that the All Music review refers to? There's always something new to listen to, something that catches your ear and fits a mood. For me a definite upgrade from minor to major and well-worth the download.

Minor

MrE

A likable, but minor album for Cockburn. #1 and #7 are great tracks. Nothing bad, but no other "instant classics." Maybe the rest of it will grow on me. I expect it will.

They Say All Music Guide

After coming across with a band, Bruce Cockburn pulled back and came up with an album that recalls his first release. That’s not to say that the sound is folky, it’s not. There’s a much more complex feel to what’s here, especially the instrumental title track which shows a strong John Martyn influence. And while the songs are complex in texture and feel, they aren’t hard to get into. In fact, this album grows on you the more you play it. Truly something that has endured. – James Chrispell
