Though listening for signs of “intelligent” life could result in brain damage, First Class Ticket to Telos is an irresistible journey through high-intensity bubblegum trance, reminiscent of how Aphex Twin might soundtrack a video game. There are more ideas in the tracks “Fried Funk & Microchips,” “Planet Shock Future Rock” and “Panic Button” than many acts have built entire careers on, and Begg never seems to run out of great effects and tight rhythms.
