Bud Powell deserves 50 stars just for sitting down on a piano bench. Seriously, he is one of the "top ten" most important jazz musicians to have ever lived!

This is a good place to start with Bud Powell. Great recording.
Brilliant stuff
At least judging by the evidence of the posthumous live recordings released by ESP-Disk, Bud Powell was incapable of having an off night, but this is the best of that extensive lot. Cerebral without being wimpy, Bud Powell was up there with Lennie Tristano and the great Thelonious among the post-bop piano players.
