Hep reissues their killer 1984 session with clarinetist Buddy DeFranco meeting up with jazz guitar virtuoso Martin Taylor that also includes Alex Sharp playing piano, Ronnie Bae on bass, and Clark Tracey in the drummers chair. DeFranco who was 60 at the time and is in killer form on this set of jazz standards that include Groovin High, Prelude to a Kiss, I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues, and others. Taylor is a perfect foil for the gorgeously round and warm tone of DeFranco with his contrapuntal gypsy jazz licks and rhythms. This set was reissued on CD in 2009. – Thom Jurek
