Amazing, again

m_jon

Street Halo might be his best track yet. Superb.

Getting deeper

Kneon

This is by far one of my favorite albums, despite having only 3 tracks. Burial actually came out of the normal dreadful sound most of his listeners are used to and dug deeper into a more in depth realization on his previous work. Good job!

unexpected

pkdick67

definitively better than previous records which could at times be slightly dull and pointless,..... a surprise instead of repetition of old formula

one speed

SemolinaPilchard

As seductive and entrancing as ever, Burial keeps it all at one speed on this release for a gentler flow than any past material. Softer edges, softer focus, softer effect. None of these things = a disappointment. Stolen Dog brings some new sonics to his melodic toolbox, and is therefore the most interesting cut.

Different, but the same, and still brilliant

mycroft.wooster

Not many people making electronic music can claim to have a sound all of their own, but Will Bevan aka Burial is definitely one of them. Street Halo has his distinctive, impossible to copy, sound, although both its tone and the somewhat more house-y, 4/4 beat are a change from his previous work. And the result is, as all his releases until now, absolutely brilliant. Can't wait for the album!

a tonal shift - a change of tone

MaximumBob

The paranoia has passed. The title track could almost be described as loved up. NYC sees a shift away from the danger of the shadowy underpass and onto the partly illuminated sidewalk of a better part of town. Stolen Dog has some of the melancholy of Burials' earlier work, but it's more wistful than depressed. Overall then, a definite yet barely perceptible change in mood.
