Something special

conesnail

I am a huge Bill Evans fan, which means that I like the Jazz trio thing alot. I find this to be a noble companion to Kind of Blue, where the two are also together. The playing is sublime and Evans shows that he is an absolute master comping behind a horn. Kind of Blue was not a fluke. If you love that album and yearn for something more, this is as close as you'll get, but it is different as well. Download the whole thing as it is really hard to pick favorites. It kicks ass.

This was one of the first two jazz albums I ever bought back in 1966. It's drop dead beautiful as Adderley joins with Bill Evans to produce a classic. Original release on Riverside Records Adderley-Alto Sax, Evans-Piano, Percy Heath-Bass, Connie Kay-Drums.
