Carsick Cars takes all the good elements of Sonic Youth's music, drops the bad elements (the pointless ugly noise, and bad-high-school-poetry lyrics), and creates music with an obvious debt to SY, without being derivative. The soaring beautiful guitars remind me of the best parts of live SY shows. It's hard to believe how young these guys are -- I predict they're going to be doing great things for decades to come. Download tracks 9 (my favorite) and 4 (their most famous song). If you like them, you'll like the rest.
