Oh yeah, the Chicago Blues!!

This singer-guitarist can cut great riffs and solos on your guitar. This is the modern Chicago blues at his best. Really catching and dancing songs. You can saw a little of his influences here, Johnnie Taylor, Tyrone Davis, The Temptations and Sam Cooke. 'Don't Lay Your Blues On Me' is a solid demonstration of modern Chicago Blues with strong rock influences.... highly recommended..

If blues guitar men are your thing

naldini

don't miss this one! Carl rips and tears at his guitar with such power and mastery that you can't help but feel this music down to the tips of your toes. I can't say that there is a abd album by him. Well worth the dld's to get the whole collection. Just don't double up on the cuts because they are the same versions. Either do the single disc or the greatest hits but it isn't worth doing both. Can't believe any blues lover will be disappointed.

They Say All Music Guide

Weathersby’s debut CD as a session leader is a satisfactory set of contemporary guitar-driven blues. From 1982 to 1996 he was guitarist with Chicago harp player Billy Branch’s Sons of the Blues. Weathersby plays in an Albert King style, typically bending and sustaining each note for all it’s worth. Although his career is not associated with New Orleans, he recorded this album there with ace Crescent City sidemen Lee Zeno on bass, Herman Ernest on drums, and Dave Torkanowsky on keyboards. They lay down a solid foundation that really cooks. – Steve Hoffman
