These songs definitely take me back in time. A good collection of her earlier songs.

New software is pathetic - downloads don't work

EMUSIC-00E8B306

This title and about 10 others never donloaded correctly. eMusic forces you to upgrade to the latest version and then screws you with crappy downloads. No response from the supposed help line folks. This software used to work but totally sucks now. Stay away. I cancelled my memebership tonight after 3 years with them.

New This Week: School of Seven Bells, Trust & More

By J. Edward Keyes, Editor-in-Chief

Man. There are just so many new records today. Also, I think about halfway through this, I developed carpal tunnel syndrome. Trust, TRST: Behind the year's worst album cover is one of the year's best records. Super goth, in all the right ways. Where my Apoptygma Berzerk fans at? Home crying? Cool. See you there. This one is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Barry Walters goes: Trust is danceable even if you're not stuck in a K-hole. Its tempos vary… more »

Six Degrees of The Isley Brothers’ 3 + 3

It's the very nature of music — of art, even. The Six Degrees features examine the relationships between classic records and five… more »

They Say All Music Guide

This album was always sort of a joke among Carole King’s serious fans, containing 12 songs drawn from six albums, and liner notes that fail even to acknowledge the existence of Writer, her one pre-Tapestry solo LP. A Natural Woman supplanted it later, and the addition of two live cuts, “Eventually” and “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” from the Carnegie Hall concert on the 1999 reissue (Ode/Epic/Legacy 65846), doesn’t extended the range or depth of the selection sufficiently. On the other hand, the 1999 remastering does improve the listening pleasure inherent in what is here — the material off of Tapestry, Music, Rhymes & Reasons, and others is now very robust, with vivid instrumentation and a close, rich profile of King’s voice. The selection of King’s work is still only an inch deep, but it’s a more rewarding inch. – Bruce Eder
