Hands down, one of the best songwriters of her generation. Subtle guitar work that is the perfect compliment to the stories her songs tell, just an absolutely lovely album all around.

Oh, how I LOVE Chris Pureka! From the opening bars of Silo Song, I knew I'd be transported to a place inhabited by old imagined friends, one where our words are heard, all nuance of emotion is respected, and everything has a decent weight to it. Chris' music reminds me of the best of the Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlan, and other ladies of the Lilith Fair set. It's SO LOVELY to meet the NEXT GENERATION. YEAH!
First I downloaded Burning Bridges. LOVED IT! Next 3am, Porch Songs... Soon I realized I needed the full album. Infact I realized what a diservice it is to only appreciate Chris for those 3 songs. She is an amazing talent with a lot of heart. You can literally feel her passion as you listen.
Chris is amazing, we saw her in Memphis, Tn. She was not big there so we had her all to ourselves, back at our hotel rooms, she played and sang and it was AMAZING!!! Very Ryan Adam-ish,....
She's got a great voice--it's not perfect, but it fits the emotional quality of the songs. '3 a.m.' and 'Burning Bridges' are definitely worth downloading ('Porch Songs' is pretty good, too). Don't know if this is helpful, but I think she also used to sing backup for Alix Olson.
wow! everything you'd want in a female singer/songwriter, soulfull, honest lyrics, bluesy well-travelled vocals ... I saw her at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and loved her ... her live performance is great, and comes off well on the CD also ... almost like being there
An absolutely fantastic talent. If you get a chance to see her play, GO! "Burning Bridges" & "Porch Songs" are worth the price of admission by themselves.
