Talk about yester-year. What a sound! A sound of the times. People at concerts in these times were all smoked-up, it could be seen and noticed. The politics and energy have not been matched since. I feel that this digital version has been remastered. I always thought that this LP recording was im-promptu, because of reel to reel flaws. This is not heard in these digital recording. Very clean. Put it on. Turn down the lights and maybe just maybe you can smell the smoke!
Really a deal for this price. CSNY at the top. Accoustic set is wonderfull
C,S,N,&Y are one of the greatest super groups of all times. When you look at all the works since they went different directions shows that the sum of its parts is much greater than the whole. They encompassed rock, folk rock and some of the best protest/political music outside of the folk scene ever produced.
you can't say rock&roll without remembering C,S,N,& Y . it's just not possible. this group was so important in the rock movement in the 60"s that they can not be recognised more!!! these guys were "rock & Roll"
This album, one of my all-time favorites, truly reflects the spirit of the late 60s. The politics, the sex, the sounds---all terrific!
When there are this many great artists working within the confines of a single band there is no way to keep the band working as a cohesive unit. It's truly wonderful that the moments they were working together and just enjoying themselves have been preserved here.
CSNY, in many ways, were more flash than substance. In my opinion neither of their studio albums tends to wear well. It's a suprise to me that 4 way street, however, still sounds good. Damn good. Even the silly amercia's children thing from stills.... Ok, it's a time capsule from 1970/71. It's good....
